The Recruit

Al Pacino stars as “Walter Burke”, a hands on field trainer and recruitor of potential future CIA officers. He scouts out students who graduated with top marks and lures them back to “the farm” Where they undergo some intense spy tests to see if they have what it takes to become James Bond clones. Walter is the best there is at his job and the audience is shown this on several occasions as he brings out some vintage Al dialogues and combines this with action packed “spy vs spy” stuff. I really groove on watching spy flicks and this one showed some radical modern day training facilities for spewing out future protectors of “good justice and the american way”. This is a must see if you’re a spy movie junkie fan. There were many holes in the story and “nothing is as it seems” reminders added about 20 minutes of filler in the 2 hour script. “James Clayton” Colin Farrell and Bridget Moynahan Layla play the new recruits who get played by the master.
