Wayne (Seann William Scott) is practicing for a fireman’s exam in a dessert in Arizona. Suddenly Wayne’s car is destroyed by what seems to be a meteorite. The call goes out to two college professors to investigate the meteorite. Eventually the teachers and Wayne join forces to learn more about what they have really discovered. Dr. Ira Kane (David Duchovny) who of course fits right in with the science fiction alien invading laugh a minute theme of this movie and Harry (Orlando Jones) stars as the other nonconformist prof. Ultimately our heroes discover that the meteor is infested with alien creatures that evolve and adapt very quickly to the earth’s surface. In comes the army with garter-belt wearing Dr. Allison Reed (Julianne Moore) as the head assistant. Can this cast of misfits save the earth with some Head and Shoulders? Of course Director Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters) had to call up Dan Akroid as he also fit right in with this zany cast. There was certainly a lot of butt humour in this movie as we got to see a full moon from Ducovney, an anal probe for Jones, and several alien bum shots. This movie had more than its share of great one liners and will leave you in stitches.
